Counselling in Brighton & Hove

Practicalities

In-Person Sessions

You may prefer to have your sessions face to face.

You may find it more reassuring to be in the same room with me. Or perhaps you spend a lot of your working life online already, and you want your therapy sessions to feel different.

I do my in-person sessions from the quiet and private consulting-room on my own premises in Dyke Road Drive in Brighton and Hove, near Preston Park. It’s a 10-minute walk to London Road Station, and a couple of minutes to the 5, 5A and 5B bus routes. There’s plenty of on-street parking too (PayByPhone, location 84407).

The room has bookshelves, paintings, a window with a view of buildings and the sea, a blue sofa, a potted plant, a striped mug, and a notebook with a pen on a wooden table.

Online Sessions

There are a lot of advantages to online therapy.

You don’t have to travel, so you can have your sessions from home or from your place of work, in a familiar setting. And most people find it just as effective – the relationship between client and therapist can be just as strong in online work.

I can see you on Zoom, WhatsApp, Teams, or any platform of your choice. Of course, the fee is the same whether you choose online or in person – or if you mix the two.

Times and Fees

I work with clients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

My hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

If possible, we’ll set up a regular time to meet every week or every fortnight.

But if that’s difficult for you, I can sometimes arrange sessions on a more ad hoc basis.

The fee for the session is £70, payable after the session by card or bank transfer.

Free Consultation

How can you tell if counselling is what you need?

Or that I’m the right counsellor for you? That’s why I suggest that we start with a free 20-minute telephone consultation.

You can give me an idea of what it is that’s challenging you in your life at the moment (tell me as much or as little as you feel comfortable to), and I’ll suggest ways in which we might work through the issue(s). Then, if you feel that we’re on something like the same wavelength, we’ll arrange a trial session (paid for), after which you decide whether to carry on or not. After that we can continue as long as you want to – but it’s completely open-ended, and you can always stop at any time.

My commitment to you is to continue to be available as long as you find it helpful.
